With the release of the new version Scene 5.1 FARO has also updated its scan data format (FLS, FWS and LSPROJ). To convert files from Scene 5.1 into the AutoCAD PCG format, the new FARO format libraries need to be installed. Kubit provides these libraries including instructions for installation under  http://download.kubit.de/SUPPORTFILES/driver/Faro/FARO_LS_SDK_5.1.zip.  After installation of the new libraries FARO data can be imported to AutoCAD PCG format and processed and with kubit’s PointCloud and PointSense products as usual.

Please note! In addition to the installation of the libraries it is necessary to copy files from folder
C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_faro.ls_1d23f5635ba800ab_1.1.501.0_none_347e88fb032f5788
to folder:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\IndexCodecs
Please replace existing files (from FARO Scene 5.0) via Copy and Paste.

I recently upgraded to SCENE LT 5.1 x64 and both the 32 bit and 64 bit SDK files are indeed required otherwise Revit 2013 can't index the *.fws format file into the Revit required *.pcg Point Cloud file that it uses.

I did not have to do the manual copying on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 computer.
