Well I was just talking about this with other staff in the office a few
minutes ago, and our common experience was to use IntelliCAD to clean up DWG
files that had become corrupted beyond Audit/Restore process while having
been retained inside AutoCAD previously.

So that fairly well flies in the face of the post we were lead to from that
link, hmmmm?

The procedure I referred to above was c-o-n-s-i-d-e-r-a-b-l-y faster than
having to start all over from an empty dwg file, I'm sure even the Deskers
would agree.

And that would need to include the "checking" involved to make sure that all
the necessary changes had been addressed.

Which made me think of any Agency changes required - based upon the
timeframe of this unfortunate happenstance of corruption.

Can you read? I just did! Look above you boy. DWGgateway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With DWGgateway, I can open *ANY* version of AutoCAD from V1.4 to 2006. (2007 soon, I'm sure) And save it to WHATEVER VERSION I am working in. In other words, I have DWGgateway installed on R14 and 2002.

So if I am in R14 and open a 2006 dwg with DWGgateway, it will save it as R14. And consequently, if I'm in 2002 and open a 2006 dwg with DWGgateway, it will save it as 2002. Or I can open an R9 and save it as a 2002.

AutoCAD TrueView (or whatever it's called *CAN'T* even do that)!

ummm... DWGateway is a translator NOT a CAD program.

So what you MEANT to say was that there are freebie programs out there that will do less than 1 hundredth of 1 percent what AutoCAD does, better than AutoCAD. Next time say that, that might be supportable.

BTW, if you have all those versions loaded at the same time, they need to be separate licenses or you're in violation of EULA.
