Serial Numbers

I inherited a mess! I want to clean house and throw out a bunch of old disks and manuals.

Here’s the problem…

My Company started out with 6 seats of AutoCAD v13. Over the years, they have been upgraded them several times.

All 6 to version 14 then to version 2000.

Then 4 seats of v2000 to Mechanical desktop 3, then 4, then 5.

We then took two seats of Mechanical Desktop 5 to Inventor 6.

Does anyone know if Autodesk can or will give me a list of serial numbers for these upgrades?

I looked all over the Autodesk site and couldn't find an e-mail address to directly ask support.
Does Autodesk support read and respond to these messages?

I would recommend you keep every scrap of documentation that you can find. Up until the current subscription business model was adopted the Autodesk record keeping, was problematic.
Now it is better but it always pays to keep track of that stuff independently.

I went through this a few years ago when I started with my company -
'inherited a big mess that took me months to sort out!

A couple of suggestions - while a reseller may be able to help out, I found
the best results by getting directly in touch with Autodesk themselves -
Customer Care Dept: 1-800-538-6401. Be sure to have as complete a list as
possible of all company name/variations your licenses may have been
registered under, as well as any contact names and contact phone numbers
your company may have used. Autodesk ended up emailing me a very complete
spreadsheet with all valid serial numbers and *everything* else they had,
including which resellers sold what to us, contact names on record, etc.

Once everything was straightened out, we bit the bullet and went
subscription, which greatly simplifies things.

Thanks for the help...

I called the number, they e-mailed me a form, I filled it out and sent it back.

The next day I had a list of everything my company had purchased and upgraded.

Thanks again!
