My boss is going to buy me a new CADD computer. He is willing to spend
3000. and has showed me a gateway P4 with 256m. I am thinking that a
duel P3 maybe faster, since MAP 2000i supports a duel processor.
What is the opinion of this group as to which system will be the
fastest?
P4
or
duel P3
Thanks Kim

Dual P3. Duels will perform much faster and the P4's are apparently benchmarking slower than the p3 anyway.
One good rule about buying a computer is find the fastest available processor and go down a notch or two. You will save
lots and have a comparable PC. You can then reinvest the money into a better video card, more ram or two processors
which altogether is better for autocad.
