Metric to British conversion

This may be slightly off topic but I am sure you have faced with this issue
before so here it is:

I am getting survey drawings from City of Los Angeles that are drawn in
metric units and we do our work in British (feet and inches) units. I have
resolved the CAD geometry part by multiplying with the (3.281x12) so I get
it in correct scale. Now the difficult part-

All spot elevations are marked in Meters and I need them in Feet. I can sit
with a calculator and keep converting them but was wondering if there is any
program that can do that for me. Most of the numbers are part of block
attribute.

Please let me know if anyone knows a quick way around it .
Thanks
Sunil

if you could share EXACTLY what you are doing someone might spit out a lisp
for you and turn all these into a nice text file

Are you using vanilla autocad or a vertical product? What version? Do you or
anyone in your office know LISP?

Thanks Jaime. Well these files have spot elevations entered in meter. Most
entries are part of attribute in a block while others are just text entries.
I was wondering if anyone knows any script/lisp utility that can just apply
the multiply factor and change these numbers to feet.

If not I will have to play with lisp or just use calculator - whichever one
is faster.
Thanks
Sunil

Working in Canada, we have to do this all the time. We don't currently have
a LISP routine for blocks but we do have one for text entities (two
actually). One converts metres to feet, the other feet to metres. Let me
know if you are interested and I can forward them to you.
