FYI Sophos Antivirus disabling AutoCAD

Just an FYI so that maybe no one else has to pull their hair like I did...

Apparently, some #$%!ing spammer/hacker has started using the filename of
several DLLs included with AutoCAD (2008 Land Desktop, in my case) to hide
malware. Sophos, being aware of this, started quarantining these files
Wednesday. It affected my workstations as well as my deployment images on
the server.

The four files that affected me are:
ADLMDLL.DLL
LACADS.DLL
lciv3ds.dll
llddts.dll

Note that when I added these my exclusions list in Sophos I noticed there
were several variations (usually the last letter) of these files in the
suspect list which may be for different versions of AutoCAD...or not, I
don't know.

I hope this doesn't become a repeating issue. Sunbelt Vipre Antivirus had a similar issue last month. These companies need to be looking for the virus fingerprints in infected files and not just names of infected files. Ridiculous.

file name searches is the quick easy cheaper quick fix for many low-end
anti-virus apps: buyer beware.

A couple of years ago we had Norton AV kill LDT dead. So price isn't always an indicator. But usually you're right.

Hi!

 We're have some problems with "Product Design suite Ultimate".
The softwares not start.

Autocad still blocked in the screen following:

 

TravCAD.JPG

Was format computer, installed without Anti-Virus and various others forms.

Really we're not know make about this.
Please!
