I am currently looking at revamping the DO procedures at work and (am I'm new at the Company) they have used drawing lists in the past on all assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Could anyone guide me on this, are they still in popular use or have they been made redundant due to the progression of parametric part lists & BOM's within drawings and fully functional data management systems?
In all the years I've been in engineering I've only encountered drawing lists at two of the companies I've worked at (including this one) as we've always used the parts list on the assembly drawing as the key reference to all the top level drawings on a project.
