Discussion Group Maintenance Notice

Discussion Group Maintenance Notice

The Autodesk discussion groups will be unavailable Friday, December 12, 5 pm
PST to December 15, 5am PST in order to launch to our new infrastructure and
web experience.

The transition will be seamless. Newsreader (nntp) access will not change.
Web-based (http) experience will be radically improved to include:

- Watches: ability to monitor threads and receive e-mail updates
- Spell checking for posts
- Ability to search individual groups
- Preservation of formatting in posts
- Attachments in all forums
- Improved login/registration (existing logins will continue to work)
- Elimination of frames (allows direct linking to topics)

We look forward to your continued feedback on the new interface:

The newsgroup software will bounce anything over a meg and, as
always, ZIP ZIP ZIP. I'll double check that larger files can go
to Customer Files.

Also please ZIP as a courtesy for those of us with high security on our
outlook newsreaders.
