    Changed login name...

Our IT department recently changed all of our login usernames...for those of
us where they didn't delete the old "documents and settings" folder with our
old username, there is no problem, but some users had their old profiles
deleted (all info was copied to the new profile though). However AutoCAD
still looks for the old profile and recreates it...any way to force it to
forget the old profile and stop recreating it without reinstalling?

Well, to be fair, so far, AutoCAD is the only program that has this
    problem...

Where in the registry? That's what I'm trying to find...where does the
reference to the old profile name exist (even though I log in as a different
    user)

If the old user name was "bob" and now it is "bsmith"
    When in the registry...
    do a search for "bob"
    Everywhere you find - C:\Documents and Settings\bob..........
    in an Autodesk related hive.
    change bob to bsmith.
    F3 = Find Next

I've only successfully tried this with DWG Viewer but it worked.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

Sounds like they didn't know this would happen with AutoCAD before
    making this big change.

You can also download a trial (or freebie) "bulk find/replace" tool for
the registry. Dangerous? yes. But much faster than a manual
find/replace. IIRC, the profile name exists in over 50 places.

    for future reference,
    \HKCU\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R16.0\ACAD-201:409\LocalRootFolder and RoamableRootFolder
Did it for me. Expect to change the version numbers.
