Change UNC pathing to mapped drives.

Apologies if this is a stupid question.
We use a lot of custom built lsp files utilizing mapped drives like G: etc. On one PC (AutoCAD 2010, VISTA) one routine is failing and we have found that it's down to AutoCAD using the UNC path and not the mapped path. So when we use the variable getvar dwgprefix it's returning the UNC path and not the mapped path which is what's required for the routine to run.
This is only happening for one user and it's not PC specific as another user on the same PC works fine.
Is there a setting, variable, reg key, whatever that sets whether UNC of drive mapping is used?
Any help much appreciated.

You can ignore the above.
It can be driven by how they open the file. If they have a shortcut to a folder that is using UNC then that's what AutoCAD will use.
Recreate the shortcut and all is well.
