CDILLA and AutoCad softwware lock

I was just reading that the 2005 will (for single station) require activation for each individual machine? If this is true then what happens to those who followed advice of the resellers (and I have seen bunch of people from here that did that) to install single serial number copy on all workstations and then just keep rest of the copies in safe place. There was a tread not long ago about that. If I remember correctly autodesk had no problem with deploying autocad in that manner. So with 2005 will we have to change the way of distributing upgrades? I mean it is going to be a pain to go to 50 stations an run installations on them by hand :( Chris Galazka

We use their "adminstrative image" and active directory to deploy it. Chris "Dean Saadallah" wrote in message news:40355307$1_3@newsprd01... > How do you handle the latest versions of MSOffice and Adobe products? > > -- > Dean Saadallah > Add-on products for LT > http://www.pendean.com/lt > -- > >

Chris, What Dean is trying to tell you is "if you use an image to deploy MS office upgrade you can do so with AutoCAD 2005". You have 2 kinds of deployment the Stand Alone or the NWI network license; both of them are well documented (pdf guide accessible on the install interface) It isnt anymore a CDILLA feature for AutoCAD since R2004 Autodesk is using the same system as VIZ or REVIT or other softwares. It is a smooth one now, average 90sec per workstation for Authorizing through the Web!!! If you dont authorize it, it last only for 7 days... Hope it helps, The Lessard Architectural Group, Inc.
