Batch printing PDF files

Does anyone know of any good PDF printing programs that will allow you to print multiple files (and multiple sets of those files), scale the drawings, etc?

We use PDF extensively, and keep a copy of every revision of every drawing that we issue as a PDF for future reference, but when we want to print a set of them, it is a pain in the butt.

I'm actually after a program to batch print the PDFs (that have already been created) to a printer. It doesn't apear that Acroplot has that capability.

Dean already mentioned it, but RePlot should be able to do the task you need. (http://cadfx.com/replot) It lets you queue up your PDF files and batch print them to any Windows system printer at virtually any scale. It's also quite easy to use. Set your windows default printer to your plotter, highlight your PDF files, rt-click and select print. I've never done this but it should work. Have you considered swithing to dwf format? Then you can use the publish command and it will create a multi sheet single drawing file for the whole shebang that you can view in internet explorer. I have found it to be very compact and the resolution is great. Te viewer is a free plug-in for IE and if you want to actually use it for markups you can get the additional program that allows for that too at a low cost (at least I consider it low cost, $99) If you want to stick with pdf, do you have acrobat 5.0? if so, you can set up Acrobat Distiller to print to a certain plotting subdirectory and as long as you do not have any extra (.) period symbols in your file names other than the one separating the name from the file extension, it will also work with publisher or with batch plot to create a whole lot of pdf's without a lot of work. They are each separate files, which in my book makes it clumsier for archival purposes, but then again you can send individual files to clients who may only be interested in certain sheets from the set. I use cadzation's product; I bind the issued sets together into a single file (indexed, no less). If you want multiple sets, open the single pdf and plot it - using the print multiple feature from the plot dialog box. I will have to look at collation but I belive this is easy with AcroPlot. The new version will do DWF as well.

I support making DWF files, for record keeping. That's what we're doing now, since we upgraded to ACAD 2004. The PUBLISH command is really nifty in creating multi-sheet drawing sets, whether electronic (DWF files), or paper plotting.

Have you tried the "Batch processing" of Adobe Acrobat (Not the reader)? It allows you to create and execute a series of commands on one document, several documents, or an entire collection of documents in one automated process.

I tried printing multiple PDF files using this command, and it worked fine.

How do you guys like the quality of DWF? When I print DWF to the plotter the quality, although not bad, is not as good as plotting actual sheet from AutoCAD. Am I missing something?
