    AutoCAD - MicroStation, informal survey

We currently use two platofrms, ACAD & MicroStation for our work.  ACAD for all private work and MS for DOT work.  Internally we are discussing going to one platform only, MicroStation.  I am against this.

What does your firm do? Use both or just one?

If you can let me know where you are located and what firm?

    Thanks

Which of those is the primary revenue stream for the company, DOT or private work?

Are you all organized in two distinct divisions?

Or is every staffer expected to know both programs and perform both scopes of work?

Currently the DOT work is providing more revenue than the private work.  Ask that same question a few years ago and it was the opposite way, by a signaificant amount.

Yes there are different groups, although we have been crossing those bondaries more, so numerous people can (and do) use both platforms.

Our survey and land development groups use ACAD and the transporation group uses MS.
