AU?

Oh yeah, almost forgot, does anyone have an idea where the next Autodesk
University
will be, and when? It couldn't hurt to start laying the groundwork.

If there is a God, AU will be back in Vegas, where it rightly belongs.

As an attendee of AU 2000 in las vegas, I had a great time. But being from
Connecticut, I hope that 2001 will be in a location a bit closer to the east
coast (I hate to fly) 🙂

Well, I was shot down from attending NAB in Vegas, so I started hinting
about attending AU
instead. I think I would choke if they decided on Javits Center- 8 blocks
away! So I'm pulling for Vegas or the West Coast. (San Fran would be good,
have family and friends there)

Just speculating here, but Autodesk may have realized that they have
discovered a winner. The current "One Team" conference for resellers is
being held at... The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I'm already working on my frequent flyer miles on Southwest Airlines so I
can get some free drink tickets for next year's trip. 🙂

Matt,

You're right Vegas was a great venue. Too bad I didn't get to meet you and
other newsgroup regulars in person. We'll have to setup a special meeting
place for that next time.

Regards,

Emmanuel Garcia

I think I'll second that opinion. It's centrally located (kind of) for many
people, is a destination in and of itself and they're used to handling big
conferences.

Cheers,

Robert Grandmaison

If it is back at the MGM, maybe Autodesk will issue scooters for the trek to
and fro.

If you think about it and remember a lil, this is pretty much what it was:

--------
[ROOMS] __________________________________________
--------

----- <---------------------------------------------/
[ AU ]
-----

Wasnt it a shorter way from point A to point B ?

Oh, come on, guys. It wasn't that bad. It was, what... maybe a 10 minute
walk from the lobby to the meeting rooms?

I think it SEEMED longer because it was all under one roof, but those of you
who have been to previous AU's - what about those shuttle buses we had to
take everywhere? What a pain.

At AU in San Francisco a few years ago, I was staying near Union Square and
had to walk to Moscone Center. About 30 minutes one way. (But the walk was
quite entertaining ).

'Sides - you need the exercise after all the rich food and beer.

Oh, I know it wasn't that bad. Besides, I'm at the peak of physical
phitness, so it didn't bother me 😉

I just relish the thought of a few thousand AutoCAD Geeks scooting to their
classrooms with their backpacks strapped on.

What a sight that would be. Maybe adesk would issue us one of those Harpo
Marx "aahrrrooogah" horns for the inevitable "scooter-jam".

Viva Las Vegas,
