We are a fabrication company and require a system to store all files that relate to the job. The files can be anything from excel, word, pdf to drawing files At the moment we use a networked folder but it doesnt meet our requirments. Here are our requirements for a new system:
- Check-in and out files
- Version Control
- Easy to use
I was thinking sharepoint originally (we have sharepoint 2007 already) but im open to ideas?

Sounds like Vault to me.

I haven't tried vault over the last few version, so perhaps it's better than it was and good enough, but personally I'd look at a vendor that does more work in the EDMS arena. Synergis Adept would be worth researching, since that's what they do, and they have a lot of experience with CAD and EDMS cooperation
