Buzzsaw Sync for Revit and AutoCAD Design Workflows

With Buzzsaw 2011 and Buzzsaw Sync, you can automatically synchronize files from your local systems to Buzzsaw. Your project team using linked Revit models or AutoCAD files with XRefs can use Buzzsaw Sync to share and exchange project designs by following these three easy steps:

1. Set up a Sync folder
- Work with your team to choose a Buzzsaw folder for sharing background files
- Add a Buzzsaw Sync folder under your working design folder on your desktop and synchronize it to the Buzzsaw folder.

2. Link your team members' files into your file or model
Once team members have added files into the Buzzsaw folder, the files will automatically synchronize to your local Sync folder and you can link or xref them directly into your drawing using relative paths (or updated xref paths) . As your team members update their files, they will be automatically downloaded to your Buzzsaw Sync folder and you can simply reload them in your design application to view the latest.

3. Share your drawings with your team members, so they can link them in: When you are ready to share your drawings, simply copy them into your local Sync folder. After synchronization, and upon reload, your team members will automatically see your latest drawing. Note: to avoid temporary file access and synchronization errors while you are working, we recommend that you refrain from the following actions:
- - editing drawing files directly in your Sync folder
- - opening your drawing file while related reference files are synchronizing
- - reloading or refreshing a reference file while it is synchronizing

By following these three easy steps, project teams can ensure that they are always working with the most recent project files.
