Given the lack of support in wiretap for 12 bits packed... is this now also the case with 10 bits packed in 2007?

We use the same generic packing used in DPX files. In fact, you can take our 10 bit Wiretap/Stone media, slap an 8 KB header on it, and end up with a bonafide 10 bit DPX file. At least two other publicly available Wiretap SDK products use this technique.
