Vault Basic 2013 SP1

New ERP integration requires removing specific characters from the description field.

Can anyone suggest a good method of doing this at the database level or similar?

I had inhibitions about it, the resaon for reaching out.

Can you offer any other alternatives to modify a (description) property in this way across a Vault?

The idea of opening, modifying and checking back in tens of thousands of files is undesirable.

Hi Tom,

I know it's not an easily digestible thing to hear, but I would search for the characters in the descriptions, create a saved search of files with this character in the description, and save the search, modify the properties in bulk via edit properties. 

It may be possible to automate this via the API, but you would want to get direction on this in the Customizations page of this Discussion Group forum.
