There is a watermark configuration option for RELEASED - SUPERSEDED but I have never seen this occur with our production Vault. Does anyone know when will this state occur?

You should see this if you release an item, and then later release it again.  The DWF for the first release would now get the RELEASED-SUPERSEDED watermark.

Is this only visible via the web-client? Would explain why I've never seen it within the Vault Client

I believe it should be visible for any client that is viewing the watermarked DWFs.
