Hi,
Inventor 11 allows to create virtual components in a assembly. For example here is the structure of my product:
Drawing.idw
|_Main-ass.iam
|_part01.ipt
|_part02.ipt
|_part03.ipt
|_virtual-component
(BOM Structure for each element is defined on "Normal")
In Productstream 5, when I assign items to my product < Product 1 >, I obtain the following BOM:
item1 Main-ass
item2 |_part01
item3 |_part02
item4 |_part03
item5 |_virtual-component
When I show files associated with the article " virtual component ", I see the files " drawing.idw " and "main-ass.iam":
item5 virtual component
file1 |_main-ass.iam
file2 |_drawing.dwg
Let us imagine that this virtual component is used by 50 products, all were defined by an assembly and a drawing. The list of files associated with the item contains 100 files:
item5 virtual-component
file1 |_main-ass-01.iam
file2 |_drawing01.dwg
file3 |_main-ass-02.iam
file4 |_drawing02.iam
filex |_...
filey |_...
file99 |_main-ass-100.iam
file100 |_drawing100.iam
Let us imagine that this virtual component is defined by a note (note.pdf) associated as attached file in the item" virtual component ".
item5 virtual-component
file1 |_main-ass-01.iam
file2 |_drawing01.dwg
file3 |_main-ass-02.iam
file4 |_drawing02.iam
filex |_...
filey |_...
file99 |_main-ass-100.iam
file100 |_drawing100.iam
file101 |_note.pdf
It becomes difficult for a Reviewer or a productstream explorer user to locate note.pdf inside all the files iam and idw.
So my question is :
Is there a means to create an item associated with a virtual component defined in Inventor, without seeing in the "attached files" section of a virtual component item, all the assemblies and drawings used by a virtual component?
Thanks

We don't currently have a filter for what is displayed in the attached files
list.
Do you want a filter that is targeted at virtual components, or would a more
general approach work? Something Productstream specific (Hide secondary
links, Hide design document links) would be much easier to implement and
maintain than something Inventor specific (Hide links related to Virtual
components).
