Hi,
i've installed Vault Manufacturing 2010 with a remote SQL Server 2005. Now i want to move all Vault Databases to our new SQL 2008 (no R2!) server. The Advanced Configuration Guide only discribes how to do an In-Place upgrade.
Can someone help me?
Yours
Sam

Sam,
The best way to do this is to perform the following steps:
- Perform a backup through the ADMS Console.
- Uninstall the Vault server.
- Install the Vault server again and point it to the new SQL server computer.
- Perform a restore from the backup done in step 1.

Can you please elaborate on "uninstall the vault server?" Do you mean detach? Delete?
Also, what if we want to also upgrade from Vault 2010 to 2011 at the same time? Can 2011 import our 2010 backup? Would it be better to upgrade before moving the database or after?
