How can you tell if files are in the vault?

Is there a way to tell if the files on a PC are in the vault? I had a colleague leave the company. I would like to delete the Inventor files on his hardrive. But, I don't want to delete anything that has not been added to the vault. What is the best way to handle this, without opening every file. I am aware, that I can use vault explorer to see what he has checked out.
    Thanks

You need a Vault/Local compare tool. Welcome to the club. People at Autodesk are aware of the need, but I don't think it has been addressed yet. (Please prove me wrong, guys!)

In the meantime, local files that have been added to the Vault and checked in will have their "read only" attribute set. Maybe that will help.

You can do a quick compare using the "add project" command in inventor -
this will scan based on the current project and tell you every file that
    needs to be uploaded.

What about checking out a directory. Then undoing the check out ,and deleting the files as it checks back in? That would leave just the files that need to be added. Would this work?

    Brian-

Does the "add project" method really catch EVERY file, or just every Inventor file?

What about all of the loose XLS, DXF, STEP, DWG, TIF, and DOC files that might need to be uploaded?

I don't know if Bill needs to find those file types, but I do!

In this case all I need to do is make sure that the other PC doesn't have any IV files that are not checked in. I did run the "add project" however when I came back to the PC to check status, all I got was a blank inventor screen? I am not sure if that means everything got added that wasn't added? I really don't want to wait at the PC to see what happens.
    Thanks

Does add project take care of sub directories or just "working " directory?
