Can't delete file

Here's one that puzzles me.

FYI - Vault Workgroups 2012

I have a file that was in Released state (locked) but yet a user who did not have permissions to check the file out, somehow did (he has no idea how) at a time and day when he was not here (according to Vault it happened at 8:54pm on a Friday). Anyways, the file is currently in Vault, checked out to the user, yet he's not able to check the file back in nor do an undo-checkout. Vault tells him he doesn't have the proper permissions.

I even changed his permissions to Admin permissions and still he's unable to do anything with the file. We can't even delete the file and replace it (I have a copy saved locally).

Anyone have an idea how we can fix this issue?

Can you provide an image showing the Released and checked-out state?

Here's another screen shot in addition to the two above:

checked.PNG

Note the "padlock" icon, that's appearent for everyone, the admins and the user who has it checked out.

In this category/lifecycle it shouldn't be listed considering it's an uncontrolled/no security based lifecycle.

The user who has it checked out cannot change category or state along with the above mentioned undo-checkout or checkin.

So this shows that the Release state's security is controlled by the file or by the folder security.

Select the file and select Properties from the File menu.  Select the Security tab and see what security is set for the file.  If this is empty, take a look at the folder securitly.

To undo the check-in, login as the Administrator, select File Control -> Remove Reservation.

Irvin,

Sorry, maybe I'm missing something but there is no security tab under Properties for the file, just a Geberal tab when logged in as the user.

As admin I have the Security tab and it lists all the groups and their settings.

And if I attempt a Remove Reservation, I get the error of not having permissions whether I'm logged in as the user who has it signed out or as Admin.

Actually, let me correct that statement, if I'm logged in as the user and attempt the Remove Reservation, it tells me it's checked out to another user.
