New roles for Change Orders....plz!

New roles for Change Orders....plz!

Would like to see three new roles created which would give the Checkers, Reviewers, and Approvers that ability to edit custom change order properties at each specific phase of the change order. Only the checker could add/remove files and items (just like the Resp Engineer in the Work Phase) in the Check phase, while the Reviewers and Approvers whould only have the ability to edit custom CO props in their appropriate phase. This would enable us to remove change admin rights for all Checkers and Approvers which they now have.....And, with having change admin rights it's a potential issue just waiting to happen. Also, would allow us to turn on the auto email system for Vault. Right now since all Checkers, Reviewers, and Approvers have change admin rights....they get emailed every time a phase change takes place. Therefor it's just a ton of emails and the Checkers, Reviewers, and Approvers really don't know when to respond. Thus, we are forced to turn it off.

Buy adding these roles....it would really enhance the participation of vault users outside of engineering and would allow other departments to become more involved with Vault and allow them to be part of the change process rather than reacting to the a change that has occurred.

Here's the Video for our Wish....

Please Kudos this.....it's more than over-due for CO's

Need the ability to allow Checkers and Approvers to edit the User Defined Properties in a change order. Or create two more roles which woud be a Checker/Editor and Approver/Editor. We have added UDP's in change orders that are often change order specific and are edited while they are checking the items/files in a change order. They need the ability to edit them.

Right now, we give the Change Admin rights as well as Checker or Approver rights. But, that gives them too much of role.

Also, by have change admin rights, they get bombarded with all the emails a change admin would get and they don't need to see them.

This has been a request for about 5+ years. Please help!

I have wished for similar abilities for several years.

what I would use it as is:

place a check mark next to a change order record when I am done reviewing that record, on large change orders it would allow me to pick up where i left off when i leave and come back to that Change order.

I would also allow them to set UDP disposition codes on each record for Use as is, Rework, and Scrap.

Currently the Change Administrator is responsible for moving ECOs from the Open stage to Work stage and from Approved stage to Closed stage.  Our customer would like to split that role up into 2 separate roles, one for moving ECOs out of the Open stage and one for moving ECOs out of the Approved stage.  This would allow for better flexibility and match the current process better.  Other companies that currently use the ECO process could still work the same way....they would just assign the Change Administrator "Front End" and Change Administrator "Back End" roles to the same person.

Hello Irvin...

Appears this is a duplicate of ....

Guess I wanted more attention 🙂

I see both are set to "Future Consideration"

I feel they are a valid request and are preventing us from turning on the auto emails in regards to change orders.

Best,

Steve H.
