    data collection

    I have a topcon GTS 235 W Total station. I recently purchased a
TDS Ranger Data Collector. How do I get the data collector to communicate with the gun? I activated the bluetooth on the collector, I found bluetooth on the gun but it doesn't say anything about turn bluetooth on or off.
Is the collector suppose to have some sort of a card?

Another question: I have a plat that has bearings on it; If I set up over one of the property corners and shoot another one (on the same line) shouldn't I come up with the same angle?

Sorry I know this doesn't have anything to do with software. But I'm using Civil 3D and Land Desktop.

    Thanks for any help

    Hi drafter1411,

Contact the dealer you bought the Ranger from and ask him how to do
this. If they can't/won't help, send the TDS Ranger back and get a refund.

Then call them and say you'd like to buy one to communicate with your
Topcon. Would they demonstrate how this works and set up the collector
    accordingly?

When they've done that buy it.

Talk to some one else if they can't.

    Regards,

    Hello,

I have a TDS Ranger that well not connect to LDD 2004, no matter what I try. I have to use Foresight DXM to convert my files to .asc or .txt to import & export to LDD, which works great. You might want to go to the TDS website, they have a 30 day free download that should help you out.

    Drafter,

Maybe I don't understand your question. If you are set up on one corner and sight along a line, and you shoot a pin on the same line, of course your angle should be the same. I'm guessing it should be the same as your backsight angle.
