my system meets and sometimes surpasses the recommended system requirements for civil 3d. However when i design highways longer than about 2 Kilometers then it becomes really slow and takes ages to Osnap any point on the corridor. Hence is their a limit to the length of highways, plus is there a way to make it work better and smoother. I use Civil3D 2009. Thanks

Hi ceetee,
There is no limit on the length of an alignment/corridor other than the
limits of double precision numbers (somewhere about 10^308 drawing units)
However, a one km alignment sampled every mm has far more data than a
1,000,000 km alignment sampled at 500,000 km intervals.
Don't think in terms of the overall length on an alignment or area of a
surface model, but rather the number of sections to process and the
number of triangles in the model.
The minimum hardware specifications are just that "minimum". If you
have to work in the real world it highly desirable to have a better
computer.
