Autodesk bought them and incoporated a lot of it into Civil 3D.

Does anyone know how I can bring a surface from Civil 3D into CAiCE? The only way I have been able to do this so far is by converting my C3D surface into 3Dfaces, then regions, then exploding the regions into lines. I can then import the lines as survey chains and build a surface from that. There must be a better way of doing this?? Please help!

I would export the dtm from C3d as a LandXML file. Caice works well with this format. Just be sure about the units on the export. Depending on your version of Caice you may need to load the xml reader as a VBA macro.

Thanks, that works to get the surface in. Now though when I try to cut cross-sections from that surface to create an .ear file, it freezes my CAiCE. I have had this issue with many different surfaces and projects. Is there any other way I can get my Civil 3D surface into CAiCE so that it might not do this?
