Has anybody managed to get the Streamline watch folder to work successfully in Inventor Projects?
Ive tried both UNC and fixed path names and saved a streamline package from Inv7 into the folder whilst loged into my streamline site. I expected it to automatically upload the package - but it didnt!
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hi Steve,
It looks like you stumbled on an option that we added for the "Autodesk
Vault". The watch folder is used in conjunction with the Vault in order to
automatically publish files when they are checked back into the vault. The
setting doesn't do anything without the vault.
You can download the vault for free from the Autodesk Subscription Center.

But Brian, I could have sworn that I the Watch Folder was around before
Vault.
It just doesn't sound right to force the use of Vault in order to get a
watched folder to work.
My FTP Voyager has been invaluable to me with this feature.
Any chance of fixing this to work stand-alone in the future?

Hi Ron,
I managed to get it working but by using the iPublish tool supplied by Autodesk. You can set a watch folder and when a new file is published into it, iPublisher autmatically publishes it to my Streamline site.
I believe the Watch Folder in Inventor is part of Inventor not Vault because we have the same option on a workstation with no Vault installed.
You do need to have iPublisher installed for it to automatically publish though.

Two different things here:
1) The "Streamline Watch Folder" setting in an Inventor project file - has
no effect unless you are using the vault.
2) The "Watch Folder" path when using the iPublisher - Still works
regardless of the vault.
Hope this helps
