Pass through problem in MES impact analysis

i have been trying to perform crash analysis of rollcage frame. Element i used was beam element with pipe cross section. i gave an initial velocity to the part(complete frame). but i found that frame passed through the impact plane.

can anyone help me over this?

Hi, how is the time step configured? If the time step is too large, then it will skip the moment when the part contacts the impact plane. If the time step if small enough but the part still shows unacceptably large penetration, it could be that the contact stiffness is a bit small for the analysis. Change it to user-defined inside Setup>Contacts>Impact Planes>Settings.

Does the model has deformation or stress resulting from the impact?  If not, try to reduce time step size.
