For everyone's benefit, the .ASO file is the stress results from an MES/Nonlinear Stress simulation. The format of the file is binary, so unless one writes a program to read the data, there is no way to access it directly. (Of course, the Results environment reads the file to display the results.)
There is a program to convert it from binary to text format. Look for "MKASO.EXE" located in the installation folder. Unfortunately, it looks like there is a problem with the builds for version 2013: MKASO is 0 bytes in size.
If someone has an older version of Simulation Mechanical/Multiphysics, or even old Algor software, could you zip the file MKASO.EXE and attach it to a reply.
If you want a limited set of data, you can use the command "File > Export > All Results" from the Results environment. The currently displayed results will be output to a file of your choice.
