Error code -503 and code -600

    Hello everybody,

my name is David from Germany.

I have a big problem with Autodesk Simulation 2012.

I want to do a MES with nonlinear structure.

There are two parts in the simulation and they should get in contact during the simulation.

When I start the simulation, proove of the mesh is ok. But after that, two error codes in the analyse-details appear (I also attached a screenshot of the errors):

"Error detected in the BCSLIB-EXT solver:   Code: -503"

"Exactly zero pivot encountered during numeric factorization."

    and

"Error detected in the BCSLIB-EXT solver:   Code: -600"

    "Incorrect processing path."

I tried to find and change the preference of the processing path, but I didn't find anything.

Does anybody know this errors and can help me realising my simulation?

I'm looking forward to your answers.

    Regards, David.

    Hello David,

Thank you for submitting this problem.

Please generate an ARCHIVE file (File: Archive: Create) and send the file over to our tech support directly.

You do not need to include your results in the archive file.

We will investigate your model (loads and boundary conditions) and reply back with a possible solution.

our e-mail address for tech support is: aeinbox@autodesk.com

    Best Regards

    Hello,
my name is Nicola from Italy, I have the same problem (only the -503).

I want to do an analysis with linear structure. in particular it's a chassis. so it's modelled by beam with some section applied on a 3d sketch

When I start the simulation, the prove of the model is ok. But after that, one error code in the analyse-details appears!

"Error detected in the BCSLIB-EXT solver: Code: -503"
"Exactly zero pivot encountered during numeric factorization."

I tried to change the force and the constraints but nothing change in the error, in the model there are also 4 rigid parts that represent the suspension, I tried to suppress also these parts and change again the constraints and forces but the error appears again.
    please help

Error code -503 implies something wrong about the global stiffness matrix.

    The possible reasons include:

    1.) material properties;

    2.) no enough constrains;

3.) wrong other settings, such as element, contact etc.

To find what's wrong in the model, you can disable part one by one.

Or disable all and then enable parts back one by one.

You can also share your log file here, ds.alg for MES.

You may also try to use the Iterative (AMG) solver instead of BCSLIB-EXT solver. This should help to to confirm whether the problem is in the model or not.

    Hi David,

Two of the following issues might result in the problem you mentioned:

    (1) Extra boned nodes on the two contact surfaces.  Please check whether "Contact(Default: Bonded)" is used.  If no two parts need to be bonded, switch "Contact(Default: Bonded)"  to "Contact(Default: Free/No contact)".

    (2) Too large contact stiffness.  Please check the contact settings:

(2.1) Uncheck"use adaptive contact stiffness method" option if it is checked.

(2.2) Check "User-specified contact stiffness" if it is not checked, and then input a smaller value in "Contact stiffness" for investigation.

как раз таки с ошибками в граничных условиях он хорошо и быстро решает.

А как вычисляется матрица жесткости материала? Потому как ошибки в ней. (моё предположение)

Just the same errors in the boundary conditions well and he quickly solve.

And how to calculate the stiffness matrix of the material? Because the errors in it.(I guess)
