In 2013, If I run a mesh, solve runs automatically straight afterwards.
How do i stop this happening, as I need to change solve settings before runing the solve?

If you mean by 'Mesh Preview', this will still go through all the pre-processing steps just as when you hit solve, but run for 0 iterations. You will need to wait for it to go through all these steps before you can change your settings.
