No Simulation CFD button in Revit

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I am unable to launch SimulationCFD from within Revit as no SimCFD button appears in Revit.

I have tried the workaround here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=19973972&linkID=18154757

But there is no .addins file in the folder specified.

I am using educational license of SimCFD 2013 and Revit 2013 on windows 7 64 bit. Revit was installed after SimCFD -does that make a difference? The launch button does appear in Inventor.

please help as I would like to demonstrate to my students the integration between BIM & CFD

Try running SimCFDconfig.exe (right click and run as admin)

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your reply.

I've tried this and when I get to the dialogue box to select CAD system, all the CAD options except Fusion 2013 are greyed out. Unclicking Fusion 2013 doesn't make them active.

It appears have a "student license" which I didn't realize is different from an "educational license" could this be the reason?

Maybe you needed to run the CFD install as admin (with a right click) and this folder could not be added? Worth a go possibly although try this first.

Hi Jon,

This worked using the manual workaround mentioned in my first post.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I am having the same issue, can someone upload the .addin file again or cut and paste the text.  The dropbox link to the ,addin file is dead.  Thanks
