Site is easy to navigate and intuitive. Is the intent making content available or making GOOD content available? This affects how useful this site will be to us.
Revit Comments:
Seems that the Download function is not working yet. I get garbage when I try.
Need a way to filter the search more effectively and specifically by categories as well as the Browse options. If I want (for example) a door family, I must search through a bunch of detail components.
Since the families are identical, seems silly to have the MEP, Architecture and Structure versions all posted.
What defines "generic" content? Is this actually a code word for stuff Autodesk creates or will this also contain content submitted by users that has been QC'd by Autodesk?
Is this a free-for-all for manufacturer content or will there be any quality assurance standards in place?
Ideally would be nice eventually to search generic content for everything except stuff created by Autodesk, particularly excluding content that comes OOTB with the program. Too much effort to search through stuff we already have - problem with the current site also.
Not sure how easy this would be to do but as manufacturer content gets added for Revit families, would be nice to know what is "real" Revit content versus cobbled-together AutoCAD files masquerading as Revit content.
What about searches for .rvt files containing details, schedules, legends and other system families that do not carry the .rfa extension?

Thanks for the post.
The intent is both - to provide good coverage of content and to provide good quality content. We've only just started though.
Appreciate the feedback.
Right now, we are using the term "generic" to apply to parts that are not from a specific manufacturer and may follow industry standard guidelines instead.
We are working with our partners to continue to increase the quality of the content that is available. Would be helpful to know which download links are not working for you?
Thanks and Best Regards,

The content is the real potential goldmine here but unfortunately, it is a dogs breakfast. There is absolutely no control by AD on what is being presented, and they do not want to be doing that for liability reasons, and it really isn't their core business. They are relying on Sweets, First Source, BIM World and ADS for their content. The only ones that have truly useful content right now is ADS(http://adsnew.architecturaldatasystems.com/ads online/company/adsonline/myADS/), who have a plug-in to AD and thousands of real, tested, and authenticated attributes. The rest of the providers have content that is hit and miss, only showing whatever the manufacture deemed appropriate. A lot of repetitive content is shown in this beta as well. AD needs to decide on one provider and build the content. No repeats please.

Hi there,
Thanks for your valuable feedback!
Our intent is indeed to make "good" content available to our users. We are constantly adding and updating content via our partners and manufacturers, and hope to enhance the quality and quantity of content as soon as possible.
Currently, generic content refers to Autodesk library content. Over time, this will include user generated content shared by users.
Giving proper guidance to the manufacturers to produce quality content is one of our main objectives. We plan to make available user ratings and feedback so that the manufacturers have the information as to how to enhance the quality of the content.
We currently have limited rvt's, but you can search for them using the same search method.
Were you having trouble downloading a particular rfa file?
Thanks,
Jun
