This site is a great start toward making Autodesk content widely and easily accessible. I do have a few suggestions...
First, we need the ability to upload and search user created content. These files would obviously be used at our own risk, since it is unreasonable for Autodesk to have to verify the accuracy of all of the files.
Second, to help differentiate the good content from the bad, we need a rating system - preferably a system that enables us to rate specific aspects of the content (ie. accuracy, stability, comprehensiveness, aesthetics, optional features).
Thank you for offering this feature!

I agree with both those ideas. However, I would like offer some options.
I would like to see a content browser that could be pointed towards our user content library without the need to upload them to someone else's site.
On the topic of content quality, I would add the capability to indicate whether or not it meets our firms standards (a simple yes/no, so as not to get bogged down in what the standards actually are).
Overall, I like the interface. I just want to be able to point it to my own content as well as external resources and have approved content come to the top of the search.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm curious - what if the site was completely secure for you to upload content and you could assign permissions etc. ..would that at all change your perspective on not wanting to upload content? Just trying to understand your point of view better.

I think we would all like to be able to index our internal content. There are many ways to do this but the primary problem is that for each item, somebody has to prepare, document and upload it to the server. Barring those steps, there are many products that can simply host content and make them show up in search results (many portals like sharepoint, O3Spaces, Liferay) can do this with just about any file type. What we need is something like a Revit iFilter or a publisher software that makes catalogging and uploading easier.
Seek is a great product for companies that don't have much content of their own. We will use it here for things that we don't already have but each item will need to undergo an audit before it's blessed for consumption.

Hi there,
Internal content management is something we're contemplating as an additional long term solution... we'd embark on this if/when we feel we can do a good job at providing this solution, so I'd like to hear more about your needs in detail.
What kind of audit is in place before an outside content is blessed? I ask because I wonder if we can put similar process in place to ensure/rate the quality of content for our users...
Thanks!
