    how to simulate joined beam?

    Helllo everyone

I have an example where I have two joined  beams (stich welded together, see attached photo from another program) and I want to simulate that into Robot. Which way is the more appropriate?

I tried to put two bars corresponding to the same nodes and then offset the one but it didn't worked since I could only have one bar for the same coordinates (which is very logical)

Then the second solution came into my mind was to make a custom bar section and entering the parameters (Ax, Ix, Iy, etc etc...)

    Is any other solution?

    Thanks in advance.

There are 3 options I can think of:

    1. Define two separate bars (each with a single profile) with a number of nodes along them and connect these nodes with rigid links ('welds')

    2. Create a user defined profile with the values as you proposed

    3. Use the Section Builder module of Robot and create the exact shape of the section there. Calculate its properties and save it in the user section database. Use it in the model.
