Is it possible to save meshing options so I don't need to change them everytime?

In addition, how can I turn of layers from a dwg file after I have imported it?

Set your default meshing parameters in Job Preferences and save this set under a new name. Then you can use it for new projects.

I'm not sure if I understand this question. Could you give more details and some picture that illustrate this situation?
