Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis

Hi

I am trying to figure out how stiffness update works. I have read the help guide to better understand it, but I have still not gotten a good grasp on it.

Could someone please ellaborate to me what this does.

When I run verification with stiffness update the deflections are always reduced. Why?
