    Hi

I am currently reviewing the effects of altering the thickness of a slab foundation.

At pile supports, I am interested in cheacking for punching shear. The only information I have found on this topic is as displayed in the link below:

    http://docs.autodesk.com/RSA/2012/ENU/filesROBOT/GUID-8E6475AE-CAD9-4A0D-82A0-0B98CBA2D84-1283.htm

The conditions are not met for 'Contact Surface', and I am unsure of the meaning of this (ref. Attached file).

    My questions are,

What is the best way to check for punching shear, and to calculate required punching shear reinforcement?

    Sincerely

    Peder
