I was bored and attempted to model a steel column to a steel base plate but am getting a divergent analysis when I run it. The plate should be restrained with a planer boundary condition that has reactions in the X and Y and also only in the downward direction of Z (Vertical loading in this case). In the case of uplift on the plate, I have modeled 4 bolt locations with pin reactions and no uplift release. I still get divergent analysis and can't figure out why. Any ideas?
Also I tried to get emitters to work for fine tuning the mesh around the bolt reactions. Even when I add an emitter, I can't seam to get the mesh to adjust.
