Был бы признателен хоть за какую-нибудь информацию о том, как пользоваться командной строкой в Robot Structural Analysis.

Старые мануалы Robot97 описывают только текстовый формат.

Командной строки как в AutoCAD в Robot Structural Analysis нет.

Это хелпа в нем нет. Командная строка - есть

Автокад тут ни при чем.

Этот рудимент, который вызывается в контекстном меню таблицы нагрузкок, трудно назвать командной строкой.

Robot Command line is using the syntax of text file.

For instance when it is opened from the table of nodes the syntax:

1 0 0 0
2 1.5 0 0
3 4.6 0 0
ele
1 1 2
2 2 3

will result in generation of 3 nodes and the chain of 2 bars between them (Keyword "nodes" is not necessary when command line window is opened from the table of nodes). Move to new line during input is obtained by Ctrl+Enter.

What I am trying to figure out is if it's possible to modify the existing loads or add loads to the existing cases.

The key is 'existing' here because the parser yields syntax errors in return to my efforts to define a new load within an existing load case.

Hello,

unfortunately using Robot command line you can add new load case and you can add new loads to them. You cannot modify loads or add loads to existing load cases.

The syntax

loa
cas #4 DL4
ele
2 pz=-11

used in the table of nodes or bars, or the syntax

cas #4 DL41
ele
2 pz=-11

used in the table of loads will results in the definition of a new load case number 4 with name DL4 and uniform vertical load applied to bar 2 in it. If you want to use  this functionality for modification modification it is necessary to delete load case or load earlier.

Generally Robot command line has the limitations similar to text file - including not supporting new types of loads, code parameters of bars etc.

For modification purposes Copy&Paste to/from MS Excel seems more suitable.

Taking these restrictions into account, I think it will be better to invest time into learning API anyway.
