In plan views we show the perimeter of floors with a triple dash line which is set in the object syles. This also makes the perimeter of the floors in all other views and sections the same line pattern.

Is there a way to show the triple dash lines only in plan views and show solid lines in all other views without doing an override?

You could create a filter in plan, then create a view template from that filter, then apply the view template to your floor plans where you need the floors to show up differently. See this link for a file the shows the above method https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11938886/AQ_07675013.rvt

Look at Levels 1 and 2, the floor edge is dashed because the view template (AQ_Filter) is applied. If you want to turn it off set the view template to none > right click on the floor > override graphics in view > by filter > click on the (Floor) filter and click remove. Its a little bit of work, but its gets you what you want and the floor is not effected in other views.

Hope this helps and thanks for posting.
