Program bug?

When I start Revit Structure 2010 there is a smal program in the middle of the screen that is just an F and a red X (close program) after I hit the X I can't change object types.

Yeah, sorry wrote it realy fast last time. I can right click it and say move, so I can put it out of the way. I added som screen captures to show what I mean. If I close the program I'll have to change the item after I've placed it. I'll also done a complete reinstal put it's still there so I don't really know what to do. How do I really clean revit from my system? I'm guessing there are som left over figurations some where.

That's really weird-
I've got nothing but more questions:
1) exactly when does it show up?
2) Can you resize this window at all- drag it bigger?
3) Does something show up on the taskbar that corresponds with this window?
4) Does something show up in the Task manager that corresponds to this window?

1) During the flash screen

2) No

3) No, i've tried draging it to the task bare trying to dock it (it looks like a docking window to me) but with no luck

4) No

Do you know how to resett all the settings to default? Or reinstall completly, seeing the "bug" is still there after I reinstall. It wasen't there when I first starting using revit.

Oh... one more thing, don't know if it means any thing, I cracked XP to ad Direct X 10. I've had some programs telling me that .dll is bad, but runs fine after that. Revit might be more reliable on Direct X?

The directX could be an issue, since Revit 2010 uses DirectX, and earlier versions use OpenGL.
Do you have hardware acelleration turned on? If so, you could try turning it off. The options dialog is now launched from the bottom of the "Big R" menu in the upper-right.

It was off, so I tried turning it on. No difference. Oh... well. Looks like I'm stuck with having to move the x out of the way.

OK, I have a new theory:

What kind of Video card are you using?
If you are using ATI, try disabling Hydravision.
If you have Nvidia, try turning off the "Nview Desktop Manger"

Let me know-

Using Nvidia, problem solved by turning of Nview.
