I work for a company that has several offices in our state and we are sharing a network. From time to time, things get very slow on Revit.
Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to fix it?
I am not looking for the details on the solution, just the big picture. thx!

Look into Revit Server. It's a free program that Autodesk has put out to help with these issues.

Maybe your IT dept didn't setup something right. It has enhanced the speed for our other offices quite a bit.

Speed of the network is pretty critical, due to the fact that Revit constantly sends info to and from the Central model. We upgraded our computer network cards and network switches to 1GB. It made a significant difference.

A third-party network appliance is also an option. One brand that I know of is Riverbed. Look for their WAN Optimization tools. I've seen a live demo of their system, it's pretty impressive.
