    REVIT 2012 - MEPFS CALCULATIONS

I am playing around with Revit 2012 and trying to make it faster (and learn). How do you shut off calculations for mechanical, plumbing and fire sprinkler?

Is it easy to do? Do some trades turn on/off easier than others?

Within the type properties of duct systems and pipe systems, there is a parameter called "Calculations". Here you can turn off Revit's calculation systems. However - not all pipe systems run calculations, such as the fire protection systems.

For electrical calculations, go to the electrical settings and turn off "Run calculations for loads in spaces" under Load Calculations section.

In the project browser under the Families section.

That is correct on FP calculations.

As mentioned previously, not all pipe systems perform calculations. These are the Fire Protection types and "Other" pipe types.
