Import IFC into Revit MEP - then Export to AutoCAD 3d solids.

On one occasion we exported to DWG format from Revit with this IFC file open and got nested Block within Blocks... nested inside were Polyface Meches.
Then we tweaked the export options to export as 3dsolid and not Polyface Meches and got Blocks within Blocks... nested inside were Bodies...
The bodies file version was several times larger than the polyfaces meches... but the file with the polyface meshes was still quite large.
Is there any option to force export as, (given this case), 3dSolids and not Meches or Bodies?... the goal of which is to have the lightest weight 3d file as possible.
Your thoughts?

Hi,
Have you tried exporting it using the ACIS Solids?
Export to ACIS solids in DWG format:
File>Export>CAD Formats>DWG
In the Export dialog box>Modifiy the "Select Export Setup"
In the "Solids" tab> ACIS solids
Back to the Export dialog box>Export> Select the 3D views to export.
Save.
Hope that helps.

Yes we did try ACIS Solids... I think we got 3d Polyface Meshes even though we requested ACIS 3d Solids. I did see a blurb on a forum post about first saving as a Revit Project. Before this we didn't first save the project...
Can you confirm the export is different whether you export with or without SaveAs a Revit Project first? Remember the question is in relation to IFC Format.
