Can't make buildings with toilets.

I downloaded the demo last night and when I went to create a plan, I found that I couldn't create any content. No electrical, no plumbing fixtures. Which is pretty great for right now. I have a job as an Amish Architect but in the future, I might want want to design structures that have modern conveniences.

Or is the demo supposed to be this useless?

Can someone help me out please?

the Trial Version  is fully functional...but you have to pay attention when you install.  There is a checkbox asking if you want to install content or not.  It looks like you did not install the content.  Launch the installer again, and it will recognize that the program is installed, but not the content.  Download and install the content from within the Revit installer.

Alternatively:  you may have installed the content, but are starting a project with a "blank" template, which would contain no objects.  Check for this folder: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RAC 2012\Libraries\US Imperial (or US Metric) and see if there is any content there.  If som then start a new project (File>New) and choose a Template at the opening screen.

I went to reinstalling and it tells me that the material libraries are installed, and it won't let me proceed. It says that everything is good to go. But there us no content where it is supposed to be.
I have files in rac 2012, will it work right if I change the paths to that? Will those files work in revit mep?

yes those files will work in MEP.  Check this folder for MEP content:

C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\RME 2012\Libraries

You can use the RAC library, but you wont have all the MEP content.  You will have toilets, sinks, lights, receptacles, etc.

sorry, not a checkbox in the new installer...its a button for Add Content on the installer screen.  From the Help menu:

Note: After Revit is installed, you can access the Add Content button by starting the Revit installation through the Add/Remove utility.

It put everything in RME 2012. How do I fix this? Can I just c&p everything over?

I want the mep content. I should have just stuck with plain old revit. How do I get the revit mep content. There was NO option to install content.

I just tried to install the content from the add remove programs and still no love. When I try to load anything I have to hunt down the library, and when I finally find it it says there is no tag for the object do I want to add one. This is a big freekin headache.
How do I get the content files that are SUPPOSED to come with revit mep so that the have their tags and so they have all of the mep data.
This is pretty lame.

It seems from a search that a lot of the cab1 files are corrupt on manual different products.
So is there a fix for this?

This is nonsense. How can I get this thing through just a link without the akamai download manager? I have watched full seasons of television shows on hulu quicker than this thing took. And there weren't episodes left out either.

It seems that if the problem is relatively simple or straightforward, they could get back to you the same day. Otherwise, they can take a few days if it's a major issue or maybe if they're backed up. I can't say for sure, though.

I got the new uncorupted file from autodesk, did a clean uninstall but it still won't install the content. Somewhere there is a file that is messing with my computers memory. It thinks the content is still there.
I sent a message to autodesk. Hopefully we'll get this worked out.
