    locking families....?

    Hello All.

I work for a consulting firm and we have to upload our Revit files to outside firms thruout the course of projects.  Is there a way to "lock" the families we create before sending our files?  We can't just send PDFs or DWF files and we'd like to keep some things proprietary.

    Thanks, appreciate any help,

    Karen

You would be better off posting these kinds of questions to one of the product specific forums.  The gallery forum is for posting work you have done and would like to show other users.

The answer to the question is there is no way to "lock" a family file in order to protect it from being used, flexed, modified.  You have to depend on professional courtesy.

Oops, my bad.  Didn't realize I was in the wrong forum.  But you answered my question - thanks!
