When i draw a section line it goes through the whole design.

is it possible to show only the section head and some cm of dashdot line and the same on the other side of the design?

because if you create a number of section views your drawing will be full of section lines.

    thanks,
    mike

You can pick on the section and you will see a break mark in the section line, click that and it splits the section line, then gives you grips to stretch the line as big or small as you wish.
you can also select multiple head/tail styles in the properties of the section line and create as many types as you want. You can also right click on any section line andsay hide annotation in view.

Also, sections have a property "hide at views coarser than" which will keep the section from showing up in views with "coarse" scales. i.e. you may not want all your walls sections showing up in an 1/8" plan, but you do want your building sections to show up.
