Slanted column meets "Beam/Column joints"

Hello

I have a problem inserting the slanted columns when I use the "Beam/Column joints" commando. When I insert the slanted column, the beams are divided.

It should look like picture 1, but it always ends up as image 2. How can I solve this?

Two suggestions:

1. Use the Coping Tool at the joint.

2. Try using a Brace (beam/framing member) instead of a slanted column.

Usually, there are plates at those locations, to weld the pieces together. Those plates are not automatically generated by the program. The user has to create the families and place them.

Thank you very much! That did the trick for me.

The cope tool didn't help me when I used Slanted columns, but it worked with Brace.

Went to Elevation view, and used the Brace tool. Then I streched the columns through the beam and used the cope tool. Did this in all directions.

Alfredo Medina: Yes, I know. I'm placing the plates after the columns. Maybe this is a bit inconvenient way to do it, but I'm not sure how else I can do it. At least it looks like the columns slide into the plates by doing it this way, even though it's a bit time consuming.
